 About Editions Dolcimelo

Editions Dolcimelo specializes in publishing high quality performing editions and transcriptions of instrumental and vocal music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, as well as original contemporary works and arrangements for early and modern instruments. We also provide customized music typesetting services by special arrangement.  Our catalog features sheet music (score and parts) for recorder and viol (viola da gamba) ensemble.

All Editions Dolcimelo publications include background and editorial notes and are printed on high-quality, acid free papers. Our publications are produced and edited by Charles Coldwell, who brings many years of experience as a professional performer and teacher on recorders and other early music instruments to the task.

Charles ColdwellCharles Coldwell has performed on Baroque and Renaissance recorders in solo recitals and as a member of ensembles throughout the United States. Recently, he has appeared as a soloist with Seattle Baroque, the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Baroque Northwest, and at Seattle's Bumbershoot festival for the arts.  Charles received a Master of Music degree in the Performance of Early Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. He has served on the faculties of the New England Conservatory and the Longy School of Music as an instructor in recorder and historical performance practices, and was a co-founder of the undergraduate degree program in early music at Longy.  He was a faculty member and performer at the Castle Hill Early Dance and Music Weeks (Ipswich, Massachusetts), and for several seasons he performed as a musician at the American Shakespeare Festival (Stratford, Connecticut). Charles has served on the board of the Seattle Early Music Guild, as president of the Seattle Recorder Society, and on the faculty of the Port Townsend Early Music Workshops.
